Prof. Abdullah Al Shammery, Rector, has prescribed a new format for the presentations of interns for the Advanced Education Seminar of the Internship Training Program. His main objective for the new format is to make not only for a more interesting format but for a system that will be beneficial to the interns on a much larger scale in terms of supervision, mastery of topics complemented with the better development of both writing and public speaking abilities. The new format has been organized thru the able assistance of Dr. Lillibeth Lim Gaffud, the Internship Training Program Coordinator.
Dr. Arwa Al Dosari, a Batch 5 dental intern was the first to present under the new format. She presented a paper on "Crown Lengthening" and "Air Abrasion" last Tuesday, 17 April 2012 at the Pink Hall of the Olaya Campus under the supervision of Dr. Mervat Bamani, (Postgraduate Periodontics) and Dr. Mohammed Al Shammery, (Postgraduate Restorative Dentistry).
In attendance at the presentation were Dr. Hassan Selim, Intern Advanced Education Seminar Director; Dr. Khalid Marzouk, Program Director for Postgraduate Periodontics; Dr. Abdulmohsan Mashaan, Intern Clinic Director at Olaya; and Dr. Shahzeb Ansari, lecturer on Preventive Dentistry and member of the Community Project Team.
In Munesiya the following week, specifically on 23 April 2012, Dr. Ahmad Assari, another Batch 5 dental intern likewise presented under the new format separate papers on "Sinus Lift" and "Mesial Lift" under the supervision of Dr. Tammam Terkawi and Dr. Maryam Abu Saud, respectively. The Rector and Dr. Saleh Al Shamrani, Dean of the College of Dentistry, were in attendance.
